Biography
Alicia Rubio is a professional violinist, vocalist, music educator, and the Musical Director of Austin's all-female Mariachi Chicana. Based in Central Texas, she performs as both a solo violinist and vocalist, as well as with mariachi ensembles, for weddings, private events, corporate functions, concerts, and cultural celebrations. Known for her elegant performances and versatile repertoire, Alicia specializes in classical, contemporary, Latin, country, and mariachi music.​
A former member of the two-time Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, Alicia brings years of professional performance experience to every event. She has over 20 years of teaching experience and currently serves as a Mariachi and Violin Professor at Palo Alto College, a mariachi instructor at Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos, and an active mariachi clinician and adjudicator throughout Texas. Most recently, she assisted Cindy Shea as a clinician for the TMEA All-State Mariachi Ensemble in 2026, further demonstrating her commitment to excellence in mariachi education.​​
Alicia holds a Master's degree in Latin Music from Texas State University and a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from The Bob Cole Conservatory. Whether performing for a wedding, mentoring aspiring musicians, or leading educational clinics, Alicia is dedicated to delivering exceptional musicianship, professionalism, and memorable musical experiences.
